NY chicken lover!!!!

Trying out my new heated 5 gallon watering pail. I have 4 nipples on the bottom, hanging from chains, heated by a submersible aquarium heater set at 75. Only 1 18 week old australorp has pecked at it yet, so hopefully they find it soon! It's supposed to be in the 20's tonight so we'll see if it keeps the chill out.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Oh, almost forgot... I have a new business facebook page. I actually did it right this time! LOL Come like it please!

Your link doesn't work. The period at the end of the sentence seems to be the problem. I copied and pasted from "facebook" to "products" and it went to your page, but the link posted here doesn't work. (Just edit your post and delete the period at the end of the word "products" and you will be golden)

I'm celebrating Thanksgiving by ordering 15 crossbreed poults from Porter's Rare Heritage Turkeys at eight bucks apiece, for spring delivery. As I don't actually need 15 turkey poults, I'll be offering some of them up for sale at cost. The crossbreeds are from their experimental breeding flocks (they breed for interesting colors as well as to preserve breeds), and are sort of "mutt" turkeys. As I don't want to show them, I'm good with crossbreeds. I'm sure I'll find a few takers on BYC. I know how you all roll.

Thanks everyone for the good advice on housekeeping. It's interesting to hear what everyone else does. It sounds like I am going to open the windows a crack to let some more air in. My husband built the chicken coop and its very air tight. I don't really recall having an issue last year but then again I added a few more chicks this year. Anyhow - thanks and have a great thanksgiving!!!

good morning all! Happy Thanksgiving, and Happy Birthday to vmd! it's off to work for me... hopefully a light load today, so I can be home early to enjoy a good turkey supper with all the trimmings!
I got authentic Muck Boots for me birthday! really awesome, and they are actually pretty! grey with purple paisley swirls... certainly will make venturing out to the chickens easier this winter as well as the muddy spring thaw.
