I want to get me some more ducklings. My pekins are too fat to be fertile. Or some reason their eggs just die early or dont develope. Only had one baby to make it to lockdown but she died before she hatched. My mallards are no problem i havent had very few eggs that didnt develope.Sorry fir rambling
Hauled the first guinea pig/rabbit cage in. Left it in the entryway to thaw out. It's missing one of its wheels... I'll haul another one in later, as there's only room enough for one in my entryway... Operation brooder/ step one: complete!
I'm tickled pink -- was at the grocery store today and they were throwing out these styrofoam containers for shipping grapes. About 6" tall, 16" wide, maybe 28" long... they're like the PERFECT containers for transporting baby chicks in! SO I grabbed 'em. Now I just need some baby chicks!
Oh man, that just reminded me of a kid's book, way back when. I can't remember who it was by but it was called "Make Way for Ducklings", about this mama duck who raised a brood of ducklings in Central Park, I think it was. Anybody else read that when they were a kid?
