NYDH Contest #3 - An Opportune Time Award

So, this is my barn when it was almost completed. I don't have any pics of it completed on this computer, but let me just say, it is beautiful! It is my dream barn. It was built using my husband's design ideas, with a little tweaking by me, but it was basically his vision. I was only able to build it because, after he passed away in Feb 2010, his life insurance paid off my house. I knew he wanted me and the kids to have our barn, and we talked about building it when we could afford to do it, so I did it...

A look down the center aisle...

A little more interior detail...
My nephew built it for me. He has his own construction company, and I kept him pretty busy the whole summer of 2011 building this for me. He had never built a barn before, but he researched and worked with me and did an absolutley fantastic job! 1 1/2 years later, I still love everything about it...

But the reason I am telling you all this is because the other day I was joking with my nephew that I might need to hire him to build me the Taj Mahal of chicken coops this spring, depending on how many of these eggs I hatch out... He texted me and asked me if he could store his construction trailers in the parking lot of my building in town for the winter, and in return, he would BUILD ME A CHICKEN COOP!!!!!!!

I did mine a week different and then separated them as the biggers were alot bigger.... it all depends.....  cant u use an box as a temp brooder for a week? then add them together.... alot of people do keep them together..... so I cant say for sure

I sure can. Or i could divide the pool into different sections.Na a box will do just fine.

Just beautiful. He did an excellent job. Can't wait to see the coop he builds for you.

I got a nephew studying Architecture, maybe he'll design me something fantastic some day?? LOL You're lucky! I'd rather have one in construction, WAY more practical! LOL. Tell him, if he thinks the Taj Mahal is simple, then you both see eye to eye ;) LOL
