I like that idea, or even a bin where you throw everything into and then make them do a chore to get each item back. (I like this even better than throwing it out.)

The problem is that 80% of the mess is from my 3 year old, and she just doesn't get that yet.  I don't know who left what, so I am just kinda stuck until she is old enough to get it.


My 2 yo knows that if he doesn't pick up his toys (we have one of those colored bin/shelving things, and his toys all go in this, so he takes out one bin at a time to play with) A. He gets a swat on his diapered bottom and B. Mimi is evil enough to throw away his toys. (put them in my room for a day or so)
