O my lord... I have nothing else to say... Chicken an turkey injurie *GRAHPIC TO THE MAX*!!!!!!

Ok so I'm nervous because I'm gonna be gone for a total of a little over 25 hours an I normally put Neosporin every 8 hours or so... So tonight before I'm gone should I just put ALOT of Neosporin on them ( not to to worried about the turkey but I am worried about the chickens head drying out)

So I wanted to ask a question to those of you who said to put sugar on the wound or honey to help it heal. When do I put that on the wound? And for about how long do I leave the wrap on? My poor little girl is only 8 weeks old and she is missing a whole part of her scalp just like in the pics on here. I do not know what to do at this point. It has been maybe 5 days? I have her by herself and she is eating and drinking, but her wound looks TERRIBLE!! I look at it and wonder if I should try to sew it up. I am just unsure of what else to do. I keep her skull slathered so it does not dry out, I have been putting a dressing on it, but she is tearing them off now. She doesn't like it. But I really want her to heal up. ANy info would be great. Thanks. JO

Ok UPDATE so they are doing great!!! Turkey is almost all the way healed he just needs to grow back feathers an his skin is soft an smooth so that's good :) an chicken is doin ok she still has a LONG way to go... Her skin is slowly coming back on her head. But I have a problem with her right now... He skin if flakeing off on her back...

Just under my thumb is the I guess " dead" skin or maybe " dry till the point it fell of" but that pice of skin was lose so I took it put an layed it on the ground it looks like a tiny " Lays" chip

I see that her back is dry an she has new soft skin growing underniegth is she shedding her skin like a snake? Cause that is what it looks like

From what I can see, that's just a scab (chicken skin scabs a little different than people skin). The fact that it's "shedding" just means the skin underneath is healed. That's probably a spot where she had a wound from being pecked. It might have been hidden by her feathers. Keep up the good work!

Is her head looking any better?

I had something like this happen to one of my chicks - just found him an hour ago. Very helpful advise on here - as always! Thank you BYC!! So glad to see your guys coming along. It gives me hope.

Alright BIG question here!!!!!!!!
The turkey an chicken are starting to stink up the garage an it's cause if problems: 1 my parents complaints about the smell.
2 my house AC circulates though the garage an we all have respatory problems right now an my father is blaming it on the chicken an turkey in the garage massive stink!!!!!!
My dilemma is that I think he's right!!!! I've never had respatory problems like this until they went in the garage... So can they go into the COOP not the run???
The chickens head is just one big scab that's just brown an red but no more cuts or open wounds they have all healed. The chicken also is started growing feathers on its back again!!!!!!!!!! An the turkey is 98.999999% healed he just keeps scratching off the skin on its beak because its out growing the cage it's in an is sticking its head in-between the holes in the cage an it's getting bad. ( another reason to put them in the coop) now that you are fully informed.......
Should I put them in the coop an make the big chickens live out in the run till they are old an big enough to live togather???? The turkey is bigger than the big chickens but Jill Is so small she fit in a baseball..... Here is a pic of my coop:

The little ones would be in te coop "house" an the big ones would be living in the run where that one chicken is standing on the ladder... I was thinking of blocking this hole leading into the coop:

With a pice of glass or clear plastic so the big chickens can stand where the one is in te pic an watch an interact with the big ones with out contact..... BUT I did that last time an I think why they attacked them is because they were trapped outside the coop an the little ones in an they got mad that they could not go into the coop... I don't know what to do but my dad is gonna kick em out of the garage SOON an I need a plan!!!
