Oatmeal on cold mornings?

Ok - this may be a ridiculous question, but I have read a lot about how the girls would love oatmeal on these brisk New England mornings. I have a ton of instant oatmeal - the maple and brown sugar flavored (don't judge. I love it lol)

Is this ok to give to them, or do I need to focus on plain, unflavored stuff and add to it myself?

The girls are about 19 weeks old (come on already - where are the eggs???) and I hear oatmeal (and pie) helps convince them to lay ;-)

Thanks!

I use old fashioned oats. I have the instant but wouldn't want all that sugar and such for the girls. I make "oatmeal" that's 50% oatmeal and 50% layer pellets, add water, microwave. I usually will throw in whatever leftovers from the night before after cooking. If I don't have any leftovers, I might add an egg before cooking or some raisins afterwards. They scarf it down.
