When giving oatmeal as a treat is it cooked or raw?? Can you use baby oatmeal or just regular??

I just give mine any of the oatmeal that's left over from breakfast. I use Quaker old-fashioned oats. Baby oatmeal wouldn't hurt them, but it's been a long time since I had human babies. Is the baby stuff fortified with extra iron? If so, I would avoid it.

I give them freshly cooked oatmeal on really cold days. It cools off enough for them by the time I walk out to the coop but gives them a little warmth. No sugar, no milk, no butter. Maybe a sprinkle of scratch.

Raw oatmeal from the box = bad

Cooked oatmeal with water = good



????
