I have heard of people feeding their chicks cooked but not hot oatmeal. Does anybody see a problem with just straight from the box oatmeal? Plain of course the quick oats to be be specific.

My girls love it uncooked- esp on top of plain yogurt!

I've been giving my peepers oats since this weekend. They love it, and they've gotten much friendlier since I've been hand feeding it to them. They are starting to peck a bit hard though....

Oatmeal (uncooked) is very popular with both my chicks and my adult birds,

DO NOT give them the quick oats if you are going to feed them oatmeal. Give them the regular, rolled-oats sort. Quick oats contain salt and sugar, which are difficult to process.

Mine like it warmed, but not hot.

Uncooked oatmeal is like M&M's for chickens. They LOVE them!! This reminds me that I need to buy some more today, Thanks!!

My girls LOVE uncooked (not instant) oatmeal, but only out of momma's hands. If I put it on the ground they ignore it. Go figure!
