Here's the deal...
I have 11 silkies that are spolied rotten. They are just pets, and will hopefully only leave me when they die of old age.
I don't care if they never lay a single egg....I just love having them as my babies.
I was looking at them the other day and wondered if they can get too fat. I feed them well and give them treats almost every day. They love bread and canned corn mostly. They are beautifully feathered and look so healthy and happy. They are about 5-6 months old now.
Is it possible to get a chicken too fat?
I even heat their coop at night so they don't get chilled. I know they aren't burning off body fat trying to stay warm.
