Obligatory Hello

Welcome to BYC. If you go through hobbies like water, you might do better with something nonbreathing. Well kept chickens have a tendency to stick around for several years and they require daily care. Its not a cheap hobby either and the initial investment to get a brooder set up and a well built coop & run can be expensive. If you have your heart set on zombie chickens you may also need an incubator because eggs will probably easier to obtain. Of course that means finding homes for the roosters. You can find and buy ayam cemani pullets at Meyers hatchery but they are going to be expensive too.
Hobbies and animals are not the same. Ask me how much money I already spend on my current animals and I would be unable to give you a definitive number. My dog has well over 20k in training, agility, obedience, all the cgcs, trick dog, preventative gastropexy. While I appreciate the concern because I know there are people out there who dont see animals the way I do. It's not something to be concerned about with me.

I built a miniature aquaponic system in my home when I was bored. The idea of building a coop sounds wicked fun.
