Not something you can really 'battle', just be patient, observe and learn about their behavior.
I'm not convinced curtains help, plus another surface to gather dust, and it's just another strange new thing for them to adjust to when they are already stressed out.
I use shade cloth drapes and they seem to offer a bit more privacy. They don't seem to get very dusty and I purge dust when I clean out coops every 3 months or so.It was something I tried with a couple egg breakers once. I remember testing for thin shells. Nope. Those two just liked breaking eggs. I have a flock of hens now that prefer to see how many eggs they can get in one nest, despite how many nests they have. I've seen that off and on over the years. I am always very calm in the coops, and try to only handle birds at night time. I move to what I call the Leghorn shuffle. You have to move gently around them or they act like death is upon them. I have a head lamp with different settings so I don't scare them when I'm inspecting them.
