Obsessed with Snakes in the Coop -- want pics!

Me & Jack :

Caught him when he ate a ceramic egg by mistake.

Did the ceramic egg pass or was that the end of the snake? Almost makes me feel sorry for the snake. Almost. No, not really.

We actually had him in the box because we were wondering if he could get the egg out somehow. He managed to slip out at night though, so I have no idea if he made it or not.

Sorry - they are not in a coop but,

My sister took these at her place in NW Ark (black snake):

And the rattler that my peas pointed out to us by following around the drive to the rock bed late last summer:

I did find a large bull snake in my coop last summer that I rehomed down to road by the county trash bins,
I forgot to take pics of it!!!

Very daring of you to kill a rattler -- but cooler still that you skinned it. Great idea!

Skinning is pretty easy.
To tan a snake skin:

1 part glycerin
1 part isopropal alcohol

I used 3 oz

pop into the fridge for at least 3 weeks

Stretch to dry

I put the outer skin next to the wood. The pattern will show thru onto the meat side. This one was pretty good size.
