I think I am going to go to this and bring a couple of birds too. Will there be anyone wanting a roo? I have a production RIR roo from my McMurray chicks 13 weeks old. Also I have a NN, I am not sure if it is a roo or a pullet but it is from the same batch. I need to get rid of two more of the pullets I have from that batch too. I can't decide if it should be the RIR or the Red Star. I hate to do it, they are sooo cute. My son kisses them good night every night. He has silky eggs in the incubator though and we can't have too many chickens here. I do so want one of those Welsummers though.

I can say from the las swap there was a big demand for roos of all ages. I think I took about 7 and sold every one of them. They actually sold before my pullets!

Hey Sharon,

I just poked my head out from my computer after working a ton of hours this week....DH just told me that it might rain this weekend.

:-( What happens if it rains? Is there a rain date?

ahh it looks like right now there is a chance of rain on Saturday. Fingers and toes crossed it goes elsewhere! We don't have a rain date set up and since it's so late in the year if it is raining I'm guessing we'll just have to cancel.

I've been to one where there was a chance of rain and it rained for about 20 minutes half way through. People brought tarps and threw them over the cages until it passed. Then it was business as usual.

id say if it is raining and doesnt look like it will get out of the area for the morning then most people wont be there. We do have the show at hertzlers in powhatan, va on november 1st which should be a good one also!

Good to know about the roos, are there any local processors?

I thought the rain was supposed to be on Friday? Well I have a hatch back so it is easy enough to stay under there I guess.
