October 2016 Hatch-A-Long!!

Our Phoenix hatched out 5 eggs that she hid. The dad was a French black copper marans, who is now in the freezer. All the babies look just like tiny versions of dad.

We also still have 14 cayuga duck eggs in the incubator, due on the 17th. This is my first attempt at duck eggs and I'm so nervous that I screwed it up.

Such adorable little fluff butts!!

Your duck eggs are getting close! I worry with every hatch that I have messed something up, but it usually works out!

My Ayam cemnani eggs look good (except the one I dropped while candling,

. Waxed the cracks; we'll see what happens.) I am bummed out by the CCL eggs I got from Papas poultry. I got 8 and all but 1 have quit on me. Can't wait for lockdown, though. Got a bunch of eggs due this weekend. Super excited!!!!

My last Silkie is out of its shell. It is super sticky, there was a pile of goo left in the egg. I am thinking about giving it a bath so it can have a chance of getting fluffy.
