Well, I guess that answers my question about how well the eggs might do shipping halfway across the country! I'm so glad they are popping out like that!

The difference was one of original destination- some of them were going to go to a buyer who decided to hold off for a week, so I just handed them all to you!

The eggs come from 3 of my EE girls and my big, fabulous roo that is a gentle giant. The pullets that hatch blue will stay that way, generally with some dark lacing. The yellows will either end up splash, becoming more so as they age, or be a buff splash. The ones with racing stripes can end up becoming anything- there's no consistency whatsoever!

The roo passes on a very dark blue/green gene, so the eggs they lay will likely be even more richly colored than the ones from which they hatched. One of the girls has a brown overlay on her eggs that makes them nearly olive after a molt, and so some of the B/B/S looking ones will likely inherit that- very nice eggs.

Have some pics!

Oh Look at my grandbirdies!
That blueish one is a silver white. It will basically become white as it feathers out but of a more silvery look, shinier than plain white. Like the difference in flat black and beetle black with that multifaceded shine. We Throw those about 1 outa every 5 or so whites. Looks Lav but its not. I will have Lavs in the spring though.
Someone explained the difference in the whites and silver whites on another thread but I forget all the genetic stuff.
The non striped ones will be red. The stripes will be Partridges.

Happy Birdies!

Heres my two little fuzz butts! Still havent named them yet. The BCMarans has a slick face where the Olive egger has pouffy cheeks.
They will be house birds for a while.

UUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!! Day 21, no pips, but I can hear them singing in the shells. Apparently, standing over the incubator hollering "come out come out whereever you are" does not, in fact, make your chicks leave thier eggs. Chicken labor is sssooo difficult.

LOL! Try tapping on the plastic. It really does work if they are ready. They think it's another chick hatching and they get to work themselves. You can do it for the last one to pip to. When all the other chicks are settled down and not peeping or breaking shell anymore tapping and peeping will urge on the late bloomers to get a move on. After all, no one wants to be the last to hatch, lol. I forget who told me about the trick, but it does work.

I got three out of six today!!!
