OCTOBER HATCH-A-LONG!!! 2015

. My staggered hatch off icelandics had three put in when incubator stabilized and added 18 shipped eggs 4 days later waited till day 19 for first eggs before put in lock down out of 21 eggs 19 still going strong hopefully all goes well since my first hatching and with diff dates not sure how will go but will see soon
I stagger hatch all the time. I keep my humidity around 50% all the time and stop the cooling cycles at day 18 and remove the ones from the turners at day 18 and they seem to do well here in Central NY. Although, I know not all climates are as forgiving!

Both the girls I have have developed big bright combs and wattles and at least one is laying though I think they both are

Purpletie what kind of bantams?

Everyone please keep my flock in your thoughts and prayers we had a hawk here today and I'm missing a girl, Paisley, she could just be hiding. Idk. I didn't see if the hawk flew away with her or not but idk if the hawk could fly away with a large silver Laced wyandotte hen.

I hope your baby girl is okay! Hawks can take a English Orp from what the other members on here report. I pray she is ok and will be at the coops door come morning!

The bantams are silver and gold sebright and a serama.

Two of my Dark Cornish X Red Star hen crosses are pipping, I can't wait to see if they are sex-linked. One Dark Cornish egg pipping. All while baking cakes for the cake walk tomorrow at church. If they only knew I have chickens hatching in my Kitchen...

Oh make that three DC X red Stars.

LOL...last year I had them in the kitchen, dining room table, upstairs hall, freezer room, gym and garage. 60% of my home I used!

Wow really? That's crazy. I figured they could kill a larger bird but not carry it off. Thank you
And congrats we have a gls too sweet if a little aloof and she has the strangest voice.
