October Hatch-A-Long

Phew. Makes me feel a little better. Thanks! I will keep updating here.

Good Luck with your hatch. I have one zipping and one rocking back and forth. I can't keep my face out of the window.

Baby 1 is walking around and doing really well. The little bit he had to adsorbed has gotten smaller, no curled toes or any other problems. The other ones the pipped internally I don't think made it. The only one making any noise is him.

I'm glad your 1st chick is doing better. Maybe there is hope for the others. Maybe they are just a little slow. This is day22, right?

Well my final update! #10 made it out but it had a herniated stomach or something to that, its belly wasn't closed, so it didn't make it and #11 was dead but fully formed and in position just didn't make it. Anyways my 9 chicks are doing great!! They are so sweet :) Third hatch complete with 9 out of twelve eggs. I still am thinking I need to figure out my humidity for lockdown. I added only very little water and 2 pieces of wet sponge, got it to rt around 50 and on day 19 it started to go down to 40 so I put another small piece of wet sponge in and about that time I had like 5 pip. By the time they all were hatching it was almost 80, I think I will not add anything more after the initial lockdown no matter what...lol They still fluffed much better, only a couple with a little sticky feathers but all seemed good today. I guess I will see if there is a November hatch to join as I venture on with my 13 cream legbar eggs!! Good luck to all hatching!!

Congrats on your new babies!

I'm still not sure abt humidity either. I'm staying around 55% and have 1 that has been piping since 6am not making a lot of progress. She sounds tired and weaker. It's hard to be patient. I'm concerned the shells may be too thick
