October Hatching ... How many are in? I'm due to hatch on 10/17

How adorable. I have staggered hatch dates, as always. I've had many quail hatch this month and a few chickens and a duck. Now I have a bator full of a variety of eggs. Sizzles, EE, Production red and marans. I have a project going but have yet to get a fertile egg and it is white polish/silkie mix hen with sizzle roo. Since I haven't gotten a fertile egg at all, I put her in the silkie pen where there is a black splash roo that is crowing and a lavender split roo that isn't. The sizzle roo is also in there along with a frizzle hen that is laying. The two girls are doing their job, I just need a roo to do his. The black splash would be a great partner for the project because he is all fluffy everywhere. Both the hens are white but carry the black gene so I could get some pretty interesting chicks. I hope.

I will be too. Everything in my bator is due next month starting on the 7th. There are only 3 different hatch dates so far.

If I could sell some EE eggs I could prevent more incubating this month.

I am locked down for round 1.
Only 1 of the 24 has any movement.
I pulled everything else out except the Pendescas which I really can't see into.
Hoping for 1, may get 3.

What are Pendescas? I never heard of them but I have 2 of the eggs in my bator I got in an egg swap. Are they a type of maran? I have 2, 1 is a light color with spots and the other is very dark.

Thank you so much. I saved it to my favorites. I didn't know I had a rare breed. I have 2 eggs and I candled and they already show veins. I didn't think I would be able to see in them but I can. Wouldn't it be great if they both hatched and I got a pair. I'm not that lucky but I will keep my fingers crossed.

i get some little chickies out of this hatch next week.

This morning there are 4 hatched chicks (3 fluffed up and one still wet and weak) and another egg zipping!

See the one zipping in the first row on the right?

After I took those photos, I quickly opened the 'bator and removed the empty shells so the chicks would have more room.
I am SO excited - even if none of the other eggs hatch, this is already a GREAT hatch!
