Hi all,
My hens are 23 weeks old. Two of them have been laying for about two weeks. Two nights ago, one of my non-layers started acting weird in the evening. She was standing very still, not taking food, moving slowly, and standing away from others. I checked her for mites, fleas, blocked vent, and couldn't find anything. Her crop was full and felt normal.
Yesterday morning I went out and checked on her in the morning and she was eating, moving normally, and her crop was empty. I let her out of the coop and followed her around to make sure she pooped. She did and it was normal. She acted normal all day, but then last night the same behavior returned. This morning, again acting and eating normal, but i did find two soft shelled eggs under the roost bars.
Is this just weired behavior because shes a new layer? Shes normal from 7am until 5pm and then really weird from 5-7pm when they go back in the coop.
