I just got my first 2 hens, both easter eggers. They look healthy, bright eyes, nice feathers. They are molting somewhat. Neither one has taken a dust bath. Tap pecks at everything and eats constantly, and is somewhat nervous.

Meter doesn't eat nearly as much, and is quite calm and mostly just checks me out when I'm with them. She seems alert. I think Meter is older and the dominant. Might that be why she doesn't eat as much? I think Meter laid an egg yesterday, today she was acting like she was nesting and her rear end looked like it was straining. She also lay down on her side, or mostly so. I haven't seen a bird to that before.

Should I be worried about Meter? I've learned a lot from my books and this forum, but behavior really isn't something you can learn from a book. Thanks!

My EEs lay stretched out on their sides often, usually during and after their dust baths, but I've also seen them do it without. I wouldn't worry unless they get "lazy" and stop moving around.
