My last two hatches I got single chicks

A serama (now 2 weeks) and a BC Marans (now 1 week). They have become fast friends but I'm wondering if it can last. The serama is very protective of the BCM but what happens when she outgrows her by a lot?

Here is a picture I took of them today:

As long as they're not both roos.If opposite sex, hopefully the large one is a pullet. I have a toulouse goose and a BEI duck that are hatch mates and are always together. The goose is very protective of her drake. So I don't see where you'll have any problems.

I have 3 guineas that hang with a turkey and duck, and refuse to be part of the guinea crowd.(not that I blame them) and they have been this way since June. So I would think yours will remain buddies till someone makes them seperate.

We had a silkie and a RIR who grew up together.
The RIR was big and strong and all the other chickens were scared for him.
He was very protective of the silkie and they fight too. Very funny but the silkie was not afraid for him. He never hurt the silkie though.

Cute names but I think they are both girls.

The serama is named Pipsqueak, the BCM doesn't have a set name yet - we've been calling her The Big Bird. I just think it's funny that the serama is the one watching over the BCM.

i have a sheep who thinks he's a goat ( edited to add, his best friend is a little nubian doe)
so why wouldn't two chickens be friends for life?

That picture is sooo cute! I have no idea about bonding amoung chickens- I am a newbie.

The picture and the size remind me of the cartoon with the great big baby Huey and is little mother.
