Is it normal for my hens comb to be this black, she is a shamo/American game mix. She is 27 weeks old and recently started laying at about 20 weeks month ago and suddenly just stopped about 5 days ago. I’m just trying to find out if it’s something I’m doing or if there’s something going on with her because she was laying like a champion and then just stopped randomly.

Has her comb always been dark colored? Genetically some breeds have black combs.
Yes since it started coming in it was darker. I’m just trying to find out why she just quit laying all of a sudden she’s healthy and I’ve checked them all for mites and give them vitamins in their water, they have access to layer feed, calcium, clean water, clean coop, etc. she’s a first year hen so she shouldn’t be molting. Thought maybe she had some circulatory issues and that’s why her comb was darker and maybe that was affecting her egg laying ability? Idk to be honest.
