Yeah mine keep secrets too. No matter how much I press they never come straight out and tell me.Nobody looked like that as a chick, or adult. But maybe a throw back to an escaped rooster? I always get pullets. And again, this is a jump from brown to green egg laying.
I’m trying to sleuth out who’s laying it. But it’s so hard! 40 chickens and timing has to be perfect. I’ve asked them but nobody’s fessing up.

Do it after they roost at night.
Go to the Dollar store and buy 40 different colors..... You may get a few looks buying blue lip stick lol
I don't use lipstick anyway. We no longer have a dollar store also. Food dye is what I use.
I've never done it but would love to watch someone do it .
