Odd Growl-Like Sound

My 5 month old australorp pullet recently began to make a low, prolonged sound (almost like a growl, but not aggressive). The pullet recently began to lay and lays almost daily. Any ideas on what it might be?

That sounds fairly normal to me; I also have a couple of growlers who will growl if they think they see something; again if they think someone is encroaching on their space, especially a nest box.

Unless it sounds like rattling, or that she is actually having troubles breathing or is showing symptoms of respiratory distress, it is probably nothing to worry about and just her chickenality.
