Odd growth on chick

I am new to raising chicks. I have had a few chickens, and hatched ducks, but chicks are a new thing. I noticed today that my only male has a odd looking "growth" on his chest. Is this normal?

That is its crop.. that is where food is stored until it is moved on further into the gizzard to be completely digested. If you feel it it should feel like there's crumbles or maybe even squishy where it has water in it

Ok. I can see bare skin and veins with him, none of my hens look like this. That's why I was worried

it's normal to see some bare skin on chicks of that age. The crop expands when they eat and drink and they have this short little baby feathers on them still which do not fully cover it up. I can see where you would be worried if you are not sure what that is
