Odd Khaki Campbell drake

Wow! You guys sure know your stuff! I've just been googleing like mad for awhile

We got our birds from Performance Poultry. I've seen what W.Harlequins and Rouens look like as ducklings, which is why I'm pretty sure there were no mix ups because, check them out when they were babies:

All black bills, black feet, chocolate brown baby fluff. The only two who had hints of yellow were Huey (who had the smallest hint of a ring around his neck) and one we call chester who's got a significant ring around his neck.

Four of my five Khaki girls look a lot like Your Daphne. Two have the green beaks, and two have an orange/orange brown mix beak. I think they are so beautiful!
When I first saw your drake in question I wondered if he didn't carry the mutation in color that lead to the W.Harlequin.
Both your Daphne and Huey are just gorgeous! Where did you get yours? Mine are from Ideal.

Pearsandgrapes do you have any photos we could see of yours please? I'm really curious

Well, in light of recent events I thought I'd put some more pictures up. Huey has changed quite a bit, you guys might enjoy seeing him in his grown up feathers.

Yes, that's what we were thinking as well. Not enough of that chestnut brown or frosted white, and the wing speculum isn't very apparent unless there's light.

Yeah, he really is gorgeous and one of our more laid back ducks

I actually kind of miss what he looked like when he was feathering out, he was such an oddball.

Wow! He is looking beautiful! He definitely has the brown dilution of the Khaki since the blue of the wing speculum is obscured. It is normally considered a sex-linked recessive, but birds like yours make me think that perhaps it can also be incompletely dominant in some cases (pure speculation on my part). I don't know how else the appearance of your bird would be explained unless perhaps it is something related to the dusky genes instead.

If you ever wanted to raise WH, you could breed him to female Silvers and all the female offspring would be Gold since the genes are sex-linked. You might end up with some really pretty offspring.
