Odd looking bird

I have a young cockerel, probably 10 weeks old now, and he has a very odd shape to his rear end. Any clues as to what is going on? He is a cream legbar x dorking mix. As far as I know he has not been injured.

i'm not entirely sure but could he be rumpless? has it always been that way?

Did you breed him yourself? If so, maybe his parents gave him some kind of rumpled gene or something.

He's got a deformity of some kind going on back there. Does he even have a pygostyle "tail bone"? The last section of the tail that the tail feathers grow out of? If he doesn't, he is truly rumples. If he does it may have gotten broken when he was younger and grew deformed. Or may have been born with the deformity.

I bought him indirectly from a local woman who raises various breeds. She incubates them and sells them to our local feed store.
I sent her a picture of him and she hasn't responded to me yet. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, this little dude and one other were that last two in a batch at the feed store. They were about 3 weeks old and the feed store needed them gone to make room for a new batch coming in. In the 3 weeks he could have been dropped/mishandled by someone in the store, but, again, I didn't ever notice him acting 'off colour'.
