Hello! I have a hen that lays odd, misshapen eggs that are slightly thin in specific spots. I wondered if anyone had any clues to why and/or how to fix it?

Thanks,

What all and how exactly are you feeding?

How old is she?
What breed is she?

I purchase organic feed from a granary near me. The food is (I think without going out to look) 18% protein. Food is always available. There are 3 waterers. I give them occasional scratch (maybe 3x per week) and dried worms now and then. They have access to the outside 12 hours per day. I put them in a portable run a few times per week for grass, bugs, etc. I can't let them free roam - we have too many critters from above. I added oyster shell after my last post.

The hen is about 2 years old. I believe she is a Rhode Island Red.

Is a crumble or pellet...or cracked grains?
Calcium percentage....should be a tag on bag giving nutritive values?

Did this just start or.......?
If you're in the northern hemisphere, she may be ramping down production for molting and winter break. You can get some weird eggs before and after this time.
