By inside, she means the flat underside of the feather, as in closer to the body. Obviously the outside being the side of the feather which one normally see......side facing away from the body.
 
Well... I do have a few mottled Java girls coming along that I have no roo for... would have to breed out the funky legs... but the parent stock are fully feathered, nice tempered birds.

Hence the name lavender project.
 
But trying to figure out what is causing unexpected results helps avoid them in the future. Better to figure it out and go forward with knowledge rather than ignore it and go forth blindly.
