Hello, a friend of mine who buys eggs from me just sent me this picture. She said that it appears to be a small egg within the egg. Has anyone seen anything like this before? She's a little freaked out by it!

    Thanks![IMG]

Eggs can be found inside other eggs. It isn't impossible, just rare. I wouldn't recommend eating it, though.

[IMG] Oh,wow, I would be so freaked out ... even after all this years and knowing that it can happen. Maybe a free dozen eggs will help her get over the trauma ... although she may lose her appetite for eggs for a few days/weeks.

Did she dissect it to see what was inside that lump?

It looks like it might be a 'lash egg' that got caught encased in a normal egg.
    Google 'lash egg'.

A disturbing anomaly, but not unprecedented.
    I wouldn't eat it either.
