I have had a group of pheasants move into my garden. They spend the day walking along the length of my garden by the hedge. Stand still for a while and then walk back down to the bottom of the garden and stay there for a rest before repeating the whole process. and sit there for a while.

There are currently 14 pheasant only 3 of which are female.

Is this normal behaviour for pheasants?

If you live in the US they're most likely release birds from a shooting preserve. If that's the case they are basically cage raised birds and would be very likely to act odd/stupid.
