Odd problem with gosling...

I just brought home two goslings today. They are in great shape, but one is frighteningly clingy. If I leave the room it cries loudly nonstop and runs into the side of the brooded as hard as it can. I have them in a 40 gallon aquarium as a brooder and it constantly runs into the side if it can't see a person. I found a great thread on chickens on this site when my chicks got cocci, and it saved all but one of the chicks lives, so I thought someone here might have an idea. I have tried just leaving, covering the brooder, turning on the TV, putting in a stuffed toy. Nothing works but sitting by the brooder or taking out the gosling and holding it. I wouldn't worry about it but as I said it keeps running into the side of the cage and I am afraid it will hurt itself.... Any ideas are welcome, and sorry if this is a weird problem but I am at a loss and I really want to go to bed.

Maybe put a shirt that is yours in there so it has your scent? Im not sure really. It wouldnt hurt to try. Just make sure there is no loose strings or buttons or anything that it could get off and choke.

put them in a solid sided brooder not a glass sided one, give them a stuffed animal to snuggle with, and tuff love ---dont return to the room just because its yelling or it is training you not the other way around

Yes, agree with the solid-sided brooder, and you will need a new one soon enough anyways as goslings grow very fast. Have you tried putting a mirror in the brooder? We've did that when one gosling hatched sooner than the others, and it seemed to really calm her.

She's probably running into the side of the tank as she can't see or determine that the glass is a wall.

The stuffed animal worked for one but the other ignored it. Ended up taking them out and playing with toys for 45 minutes till they fell asleep, threw a thick quilt over the side to pad the brooder, and ran like the dickens. Much better today but we are moving around the house so it sees us. I like the solid sided brooder idea, gonna give that a try. On the plus side they are very sweet animals, follow everyone around, great eaters and I'm surprised how clean they are. Can't wait to put them out at the pond.
