Hello,
I have a 7 week old Cochin with odd shaped pupils in both eyes. I feel like I started noticing something odd with her eyes maybe 3 weeks ago. Her vision appears normal, good depth perception. But...I don’t think they are constricting much to light. She otherwise appears in good health, although she is much smaller than her sister. I got her and 2 other chicks when they were 3 days old and was told they were vaccinated for Merricks (I know they can still develop it). I was hoping for some advice and thoughts from more experienced owners. What do you guys think?

Hey ..
Nothing to worry I see this alot and it's perfectly Normal it's Chicken Genetics that give different colors to their eyes . My Cross Game Roo have a very different eye color like a deep green dash of golden hue ..

7th week is not fully devlope age for eyes it will still keep changing color atleast when she is 6-8 months old ..then you will get a perfect color of eyes according to her genes

Its just Normal even I will say some of the chickens have Grey eyes and still have no mareks..

So don't freak out it's normal 🙂

Are NOT constricting much
Do you have Mareks already in your flock?

This article has some information on ocular Mareks: https://ucanr.edu/sites/poultry/files/246963.pdf
I just got 3 chicks when they were 3 days old. They are now 7 weeks. These are the only chickens I have. The other 2 show no symptoms. The chick in question only shows the odd pupils (both eyes) and is smaller. I’m really hoping it’s some congenital issue. I will have to wait and see I guess.

Do you see misshapen pupils like this too? I was chatting with a gal last night that has 2 chickens with misshapen pupils (1 in 1 eye, 1 in both).
