Odd-shaped air cell?

What causes this? I have eggs from my OEG hen. Most of her eggs have really weird air cells. There was one that looked like a V. Most of them have the air cell on the side, or at least at a side tilt. None of them get the air cell in the end like the others are. Is it just something with the hen?

It can be from too low of humidity or damage to the air sac before incubation. What temp and humidity do you incubate your eggs at?

Weird. I never see this except on eggs shipped through the mail.

I have seen this on occasion with eggs that were incubated at too low humidity. Other than that

I incubate at 99.5 degrees, with 35-50% humidity, but even the eggs from this hen that have been brooded by hens are like this.

This happens to me on shipped eggs, but not on any of my own. Don't know why though...

It's pretty common in the shipped eggs I get, but I've never had it in my own eggs.

Just wanted to add...in some of the shipped eggs I've had that develop like this I end up having to help the chicks out b/c they break through the inner membrane but can't reach the shell b/c there is too much space in between.

The ones of these that are really misshapen usually don't even make it all the way. The ones that are off to the side, or just a little weird usually pip in the middle of the egg at least.
