Why are my hens laying these I have already got two today

I've had some chickens that just laid odd shaped eggs...some longer like yours and some more rounded.

Mine have done that before! Once it was actually sharp/pointy on the end! They always just revert to normal laying afterward.

Ok that’s good and no they aren’t new layers but it was just weird to see two of mine on the same day lay like that thanks for the help

Have seen those come and go...
...and also have a couple birds that lay 'torpedo's' all the time.
Stress can cause odd egg shapes.

Is that egg or normal size and weight...nothing in pic to give scale...might it be a double yolker?

Iv'e got a hen that hatched from an egg like that! She's longer in person too.

I've found torpedo eggs often don't hatch well.....side pippers, can't turn around in there.

I only had four eggs and hers was a torpedo. With that few I kind of crossed my fingers and hoped for the best.
She's alive, but no beard, no muffs and about half her toenails don't grow.
Hatched perfectly though.
