Odd Silver Laced Wyandotte Comb?

My darling Silver Laced Wyandotte [or at least I thought!] hen has a Single comb! Silver Laced Wyandottes have Rose Combs. How is this possible?

Hatchery stock often has single combs.

They say they are sometimes kept for better fertility. I had one single combed SLW, which is quite common, especially in hatchery stock.

Yep. What she said. I have 7 hatchery stock SLW's and I think 4 of them are single combed birds.

I have Meyers Hatchery stock SLW and they did not have the single comb. All of them had the rose comb. It doesnt matter to me, i just love chickens, all kinds of chickens. Cute ones, ugly ones, fat ones skinny ones and any kinda comb will do.

the other silver laced wyandotte we bought had a rose comb.

I've got one also. She's just a doll. She came from Ideal hatchery. I've also got a Columbian Wyandotte, and she has the classic rose comb. She came from Ideal as well.
