Oddball...

Not too sure what kinda birds Meyers has, but here is a thought. Look up Pyncheon bantams, they look alot like your bird. If she is not bantam size, then look at the comb that the standard size Penedesenca has. It is, I believe, called a carnation comb. Maybe Meyer is trying to make a cross type, who knows? I am not even sure if they have their own stock or if they contract out the eggs, like Cackle hatchery does. Could be, if they do contract out their eggs, that the supplier they get the eggs from was doing some experimenting and accidently sent one of these hybrid eggs. Either way, she sure is pretty. I am curious what color egg she will/does lay.

Well... Oddball laid her first egg today (22 weeks)

I think it is safe to say, that although she may be "rare" she is NOT a marans.

That adds to the mystery. I'm no expert, but I think blue and brown egg colors are dominant over white so if she had a brown laying parent she should have some color of brown egg (probably not that simple). Oh well, she's cool to look at and the eggs look the same in the pan!

That is one VERY bizarre/cool looking bird!!!! Oddballs like her are the type that I get the most enjoyment out of. Take care of her!
