OEG but what variety? Brown/Red or Blue/Red?

Thank you all for your input here... Since I'm finding that the BBR and BR are basically the same except the of course the BR has the blue gene I think if they let me change the variety I may go with the Blue/Red as in person the feathers look way to grey to be a black color.

Stephanie I can only hope the judges will feel sorry for my lil 8 yr old and just fix her variety if we are wrong or if they won't let us change it at check in.

this is a blue breasted red to show you the blue coloring (your's are black

)

The OP's birds are Blue Red. (not my bird)

I can do this but not till tomorrow, I've lost my oldest till late tonight and the lil daughter won't be able to safely hold both birds in an open area.

Just thought I would follow up with this thread. The pair went to the State Fair where the hen won best Variety .. there were quite a few there that were marked Blue /REd. I had entered these as blue breasted reds and after judging the breasted was scratched off. The cock was the only one entered and got 1st of course for that variety cock.

Thank you again to all who answered.
