OEG vs SG

Old english is a type of game bird that comes in both standard size and bantam size. The bantams are about 24 ounces and come in tons of colors. The standards also come in tons of colors.

Then you have the modern game birds that are in both standard and bantams, they have long legs and long necks and skinny tight tails. They are very people friendly but some people think they look funny.

Then there is some other game birds like American game which I think look a lot like OEGs. I think these are more your backyard birds. There are different types too like the Hatch, and others I dont know, but are similar I think. I dont know if any of these come in bantams.

I think it is like the Pitbull. You can have a Pitbull, an American Pitbull, a Staffordshire Terrier, an American Bulldog, and for most purposes these dogs are very similar to each other and in some cases only the name has been changed to protect the innocent

There are a bunch of others I dont even think I could name. Try looking at the Online Poultry Show in the Game birds threads and you should see some good pictures of different types. Like some Thai games for example.

it seems to me the american game have been highly bred and are extremely athletic. (For fighting of course) I was reading on line how in the old days congressman and others of high rank invested alot in these birds. There is alot of history with them, and you wont find them at your local hatchery.
