I bought a trio of oegb. He had them in breeding pens and the roo I got was with one hen, he then took a hen from another pen to make my trio. It is very obvious which girl was with him before he sent them to me. They are both not very nice to the "outsider". When I give them water he drinks and his girl drinks, sometimes she pecks him and he moves. The other poor girl ALWAYS crawls up under the roo and drinks from under him

. I have never seen this before....will it get better or will she always be an "outsider"? Do these usually do better as pairs? Any help is appreciated

It should get better over time. Its like integrating new chickens into any flock which is always painful your just watching it on a smaller scale and there is only one outsider this time so it will be harder still. Over time you probably won't even be able to tell the difference might take a few weeks or even a month or two. How long have you had them? I went through this with my Ameraucana when I was breeding them. I don't know anything about oegb though maybe they do better in pairs I am speaking from experiences with other breeds.

I only got them 10 days ago, they are still in quarantine. The "pair" just seems like an old couple, it's real cute. I just feel bad for this poor girl. Didn't know if it was best to maybe put her with a different roo eventually?
