It wasn't long ago I was posting how much I love our little Old English Game Bantam rooster.......... fast forward a few weeks and his antics aren't quite so cute anymore.

The other night he flew right into my breeding roosters' pen and all-out attacked my huge Black Copper Marans rooster. We clipped his wings, but today I found him back in there, parading around with his hen, while the marans rooster was hiding in the corner of the coop. He can squeeze through tiny openings like a very loud mouse.

He's purely a novelty and the other roosters actually serve a purpose. The original plan was to introduce his group into our main flock that already has an Orpington rooster. I don't see that going well.

Is he able to actually hurt a standard sized rooster? Will he learn to get along or is it a lost cause?

Thanks!

Can you make the openings in the Marans coop smaller? I don't see him mixing with other roosters well. If he starts behaving aggressively toward you or any other human - especially if you have children or children who come visit you - I would strongly suggest you get rid of him, one way or another. If you choose to give him away or "re-home" him, you would need to do so with full disclosure.

Thanks for the advice! I already fixed the holes, but he's eventually going to have to go in with one of our other roosters. We could have let him free range with his two little hens until he proved that he'll just fly fences and attack. We have enjoyed him so much - it's a shame, but I don't see it working. He's not shown human aggression and is easily handled and carried. We'll probably have to try to re-home him as an only rooster.

If you can pen the two Roos together in a seperate area that neither has claimed.... They may sort it out and behave with out the girls to up the hormones. Then introduce the girls back. I have Serama, OEGB, Pheonix, Salmon Fav, JG, Silkie, SS, Andalusion, Barred Rock... Yada yada.... Either in pens together or free ranging together.... Even with hens..... But sometimes you just get a meany.

do what the old timers did use tie outs I told my girlfriend and she tied the two roo's in opposite corners of the run and let the ladies roam free...It worked but all the ladies preferred the bantam.
