I have this little lady who I believe is an OEGB. Sweet pea is her name.

This is her with her sebright boyfriend at the time. We had to cull him for a multitude of reasons. I’d like to, at some point in the future, get her a new boyfriend. Or at least a friend since she’s now the only bantam I have of her size. I am wondering if the roosters of her breed are also aggressive. By also I am comparing to the sebright who was loud, crowed all the time, and attacked one hen in particular after another rooster would mate with her.
The OEGB rooster isn’t like that right? I don’t need another bantam rooster with a god complex.

We are complete opposites. I have a Sebright hen and an OEGB rooster. Mine is 9 months old. He acts like he is really gonna do something bad to you. He is really a big baby. Sometimes I put him in my lap and he falls asleep. He is lpud though. I mean not loud loud but constantly crowing. Is there any specific info you want about OEGB roosters?

I wish you lived closer, I have a OEGB. cockerel who I have to get rid of before I get into trouble due to his crowing. He is a great boy and cute as a button, I would give you an OEGB hen with him. I just want him to have a good home, he is so cute.

The real final straw for the sebright was when he started attacking us because we were picking up the hens. He started flying at faces.
Concerning the OEGB I’d like to know all I can find out. If they get along well with people and other chickens in general. If they’re aggressive while mating.

A lot does depend on personality but I had read sebrights can be aggressive. I didn’t believe it until mine hit a certain age. He became aggressive proving true to what I had read. I can’t find too much online about OEGB personality except for one or two sources. And they’re trying to sell me the breed.

That would have been nice. I don’t usually see these chickens for sale around here.

He and the hen were rescued 2 days before a major hurricane was due to hit. He as a chick and they were living in someone's garden. I was afraid they would both die, so I took them in. Of course the chick turned out to be a cockerel. :th

Mine is well tempered. In terms of mating, of the hens don't want him to he backs off. He as pecked us a few times but not too bad. We have a Cochin Bantam rooster in the same pen. We are trying to get rid of him. We have not seperated because they dont fight.

That was so kind of you to take them in. I’m not sure I know many people who would have.

That’s good to hear. I have some hope for a future cockerel then.

Yes for sure!
I have 2 roos out of 6 birds... my luck!
One is a frizzle silkie, and the other is a jubilee orpington.
They don't fight but I worry about them being rough with the ladies to prove their dominance (I have already seen the signs)
I've heard you need 8-9 hens to have a happy roo, but I'm not sure if that's always true.
I'm looking to rehome my Orp (because he's loud), and I'm technically not allowed to have a rooster.
I wish I could keep both. They are kind, friendly with people and other pets, and I can easily grab either for a hug.
My orp sleeps at the entrance of the coop and let's the ladies eat and drink first... 😍
