Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Sage stood silently listening to what Vulture was saying to him. He'd interrupted the huge black dragon before, and it had not ended well for him. The scientist was the only one who convinced Vulture to keep him alive, and that was because of his usefulness in the cause.
"Did you know I have a grandson?" Vulture's voice hissed out. He met his yellow eyes and chills tried to climb their way up Sage's back. No matter how many times he saw the dragon's eyes, they would always give him the shivers. He braced his body and didn't let the shivers show. "Spawn of my traitorous snake of a daughter."
Such a loving family... Patiently, he listened to the description of his mission. Vulture dragged it out like it was a conversation they were having...though Sage wasn't saying anything in return.
"Don't harm the kid, just... use whatever means to convince him to turn against their little peaceful Nests and teach him about the true cause." Thoughts filled Sage's mind. Ways to manipulate, ways to convince. Plans already began to form.
Slowly, the giant black dragon leaned in towards Sage. He could feel the hot breath from the dragon. His claws screeched against his throne, but Sage just stood stalk still, not feeling the shivers it brought to him.
"Got it, my little abomination?"
Sage paused for a moment, assessing the mission. The "abomination" comment flitted in his mind but like always, he didn't feel it. His feelings were shoved to the back of his mind instinctively. Still straight faced, he nodded at Vulture. "Yes, sir. I will do this. He will join you....trust me."
He looked into Vulture's eyes, waiting to be dismissed.
HOW DID I MISS THIS.

“Dismissed,” Vulture said disinterestedly, flicking a claw. “If you don’t succeed I’ll kill you slowly and painfully yada yada. Go.”

I'm sorry Cap, i have to go to work this morning but I'll be back around 1:00, which I think is like 3:00 your time
Do you want me to write the first part for them attacking Tobe and Gables when I come back? If not, I will just write the transport finally making it to the checkpoint.

Up to you, Cuz, I'm good with whatever.

The transport vehicle rocked back and forth over the rocky, sandy road through the dunes of the sand kingdom.
Cassius panted as he streched his neck up from where he lay to peek through the open flap of the transport vehicle. It was hard to see anything past the cloud of dust rising up from the back of the truck. He could fly out of here now, but where would he go then? The Scorpion Den was now obviously a death trap, and hunters would probably be chasing after them right now. Also— it would be boring to go off alone. *Not like its any better right now,* he thought grudgingly as he stared around at the sleeping dragons.
Cas sighed loudly, it was WAY too hot in the kingdom of sand, he could feel the radiating heat under his scales. The SkyWing thumped his tail non-too-discreetly, half hoping that the apparent MudWing hybrid beside him would wake up so that he could talk to someone. She looked a bit dangerous with her scar and all, but so what?

Sol straightened, pushing a smile as he felt his chest constrict, emotions suddenly overwhelming. "No, uh, no, Helios." He dropped his gaze again, staring at the ground, as if in a daze.
What should he tell him?
Everything.
But what would his father do?
..he didn't know.
Finally Sol spoke, his voice low and even, "When if first came to The Scorpion Den, I fought. I fought hard, but not the dragons... I fought the humans. I killed one once. I don't remember much of this, mostly Tobias filled me in. He said they'd put me in the arena, and I'd take it, without lifting a talon. I guess I was too proud. I wouldn't do what they wanted."
Helios took a deep breath, knowing full well why the real Sol had refused to fight.
"But that was no good, because there was no show. Humans want a show. They need it. That's what The Den is all about." Sol dragged a talon through the sand. "Wull... Well then, I remember just absolutely endless beatings- and all I had to do to stop it was fight, but, I'm an idiot, so, no. I just took it. And I'd still fight the humans. Wouldn't touch a dragon."
Sol studied Helios' expression. It had been a while since he'd been so open. He hated to be special, or tortured, other dragons had endured this too, he wasn't the only case. But it was the darkest time of his life. And the only thing keeping him sane through it all-... Was Helios.
"Somewhere in there I was sold and taken the infamous Level Four, where they conduct all these bonkers tests and things. At that time, they were just developing brain wash tech, so me and... me and this other hybrid were some of the first, like, tested, and they kept us together the whole time. I fought. I fought harder than him. But I think that's what they wanted. They wanted their technology to be competed against, and session after session I could still fight against the pull. You can't really take away someone's mind. But you can restrict access to it completely, force them to become completely oblivious to their past life. It took months. And by the end, I gave up. I lost a will to live. There was nothing to live for. Because- because I forgot you." Sol looked up slowly, meeting his father's gaze.
"They were going to kill me. I was in the truck yard when Tobias came, and then... Then he saved me." Sol fought to keep his expression even. "He saved me."

Calla had been shifting in and out of sleep. One part of her claimed that she couldn’t trust anyone but the other part was too tired to prove that claim. When the dragon next to her whipped his tail to the ground, she fully woke.
Calla lazily looked to her side, where the SkyWing was laying. She rolled her eyes and yawned, steam rolling out of her throat. That was when she realized how warm she truly was. That must mean we are in the desert. Calla thought sluggishly.
She glanced back to the SkyWing skeptically.

Silent tears once again slipped from Helios eyes and sizzled into steam as they rolled across his chest. The story of his time in the Scorpion Den was gut wrenching, just as bad if not worse then all of Helios’s nightmares of his sons prison, all those horrible dreams he’d had of his son being tortured or broken or forced to fight…or killed, itd all happened. It seemed the old Sol was merely locked inside his brain, unable to escape.

“There was nothing to live for. Because- because I forgot you." Sol looked up slowly, meeting his father's gaze.
"They were going to kill me. I was in the truck yard when Tobias came, and then... Then he saved me." Sol fought to keep his expression even. "He saved me."

The words fell heavy on Helios, he didn’t know how to react or what to say. “Sol I-I don’t….I- cant…how could they’ve done this to you? I don’t understand…” he replied slowly with confusion and sadness. A silence fell over them for a moment, Helios finally lifted his eyes again and met Sols. “I understand if you can’t come back…back to the kingdom. But please give it more thought, it’d be a chance to relearn you’re past…and with you- and your human friend.., I think we can start figuring out how to live peacefully again. A certain group of rebel cloudwings have been sending me messages about a plan for peace. A world where dragons are no longer under the rule of humans. You could help greatly.” He said, his voice finally steady and sounding like the king he was again.
Phoenix smiled, looking up. “Sure. So- what DO you know about LunarWings?” She asked, reaching out one claw for Knight to grab.
King laughed, “Not a lot, actually. I’ve learned they keep you up at night and cry for fish a lot. And they snore.” He said with a straight face, before chuckling and shaking his head. “Kidding. But it’s true.” He added.
“They’re supposed to be very reclusive and keep to themselves,” he said as Knight practically leapt out of Kings pouch which he’d been squirming around in and onto phoenix’s back. “Apparently he didn’t know that. They’re supposed to create this stuff that can take any shape they want it to! Like mind control metal or whatever, it’s said their city’s were made of it before the fall of their kingdom. And apparently they used to be able to read minds, but I’m not so very certain of that one.”

Tobe and Gables are speeding away in the desert, maybe 30 minutes out from the Checkpoint. They are being pursued by three bad guysz from The Den, characters belong to me, Bean, and Taber.
Sol and Helios are conversing at the Checkpoint.
Eclipse, Sunspot, and Bloodmoon are still reaching the... You know what, they just need to get to the Checkpoint, we're SO off on time. Tobe and Gables are a day ahead, holy heck, how.
Crest is at the Checkpoint.
Fracture and Jabez are still in jail.
Rose is in Ferrin's estate. GOOD TO KNOW!
Ace is somewhere in the SD maybe, I'm a bit confused on his whereabouts.
Yukiko made a creepy dragon human thing, and Vulture is chilling with him or whatever.

That's all I can think of rn, Taber can get more in depth.

@Mary Poopins Love, where you at, Dawg?

I assume it's somewhere in this area. Probably are the spot "Under the Mountain" since there are usually a lot of caves around there
That’s nearby King, Knight, Robin, Corvus and Phoenix! And sunrise I guess! And maybe near Sage? Idk where he is lol
