Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Silent tears once again slipped from Helios eyes and sizzled into steam as they rolled across his chest. The story of his time in the Scorpion Den was gut wrenching, just as bad if not worse then all of Helios’s nightmares of his sons prison, all those horrible dreams he’d had of his son being tortured or broken or forced to fight…or killed, itd all happened. It seemed the old Sol was merely locked inside his brain, unable to escape.

“There was nothing to live for. Because- because I forgot you." Sol looked up slowly, meeting his father's gaze.
"They were going to kill me. I was in the truck yard when Tobias came, and then... Then he saved me." Sol fought to keep his expression even. "He saved me."

The words fell heavy on Helios, he didn’t know how to react or what to say. “Sol I-I don’t….I- cant…how could they’ve done this to you? I don’t understand…” he replied slowly with confusion and sadness. A silence fell over them for a moment, Helios finally lifted his eyes again and met Sols. “I understand if you can’t come back…back to the kingdom. But please give it more thought, it’d be a chance to relearn you’re past…and with you- and your human friend.., I think we can start figuring out how to live peacefully again. A certain group of rebel cloudwings have been sending me messages about a plan for peace. A world where dragons are no longer under the rule of humans. You could help greatly.” He said, his voice finally steady and sounding like the king he was again.
Sol's ears twitched as he gave Helios a hopeful glance. "I will consider, Helios. Thank you." Sol dipped his head, pacing the short truck entrance once again. As he gazed out at the rocky desert, he noticed the unmistakable dust trail rise into the morning sky like smoke. Sol let out a choked breath, grinning as the last transport truck crested the horizon. A small part of his mind gnawed at the anticipation, a silent warning. Well, be that way. He didn't care if his hopes were dashed- because Tobias was on that transport.
He had to be on that transport.
Sol battled his emotions as he watched the truck approach, loping behind the vehicle when it rolled into the cavern, engine echoing loudly against the solid, rock walls.
His heart jumped, the truck pulled to a stop. The trucker left the engine running as he exited the vehicle, giving Sol a stern nod of acknowledgement as he moved to open the massive trailer doors.

@SarcasticDrag0n, maybe Hibiscus could be coming in on the last transport?

Taber, you're good to RP the Trucker, just get Eclipse out of the truck for Pete's sake, it's taken forEVER to get them here, oh MY gosh-

Hibiscus stepped off the truck, unfurling her wings with a grimace. The ride to the Checkpoint had been long and bumpy, and it was a relief to stretch her legs and get away from the smell of other dragons in such close quarters.
She noticed a dragon with an anxious expression on his face and nodded to him, a wave of relief coming over her. She was safe. "Are you looking for someone?" she asked.

[It's late so I will come back to this tomorrow morning!]

Sol stared into the trailer, catching the glint of familiar silver scales. "I-I, yes, uh, Tobias? He's here, right?" Sol glanced at the LeafWing with a quick grin, his expression steadily growing more and more anxious. "Eclipse! Eclipse?" He took a wary step back as the last dragons began to exit the trailer.
His heart seemed to plummet.

Calla rolled her eyes again as she lightly growled. “Great. An annoying dragon. Just what I need.” She grumbled, loud enough for the SkyWing to hear.
Calla listened as the vehicle rolled to a stop. When the driver opened up the doors, she walked out slowly, her eyes adjusting to the sun. She hoped that Cas would leave her alone and that she could relax again.

We'll have to do a bit over filler so that Tobias and them can eventually get synced up.
Sarcastic, let us know if you have ✨ questions ✨.

@Little Baby Bean, is Calla in the last Transport?? I cannot rememberrrr 😵‍💫

Crest watched as the last transport began pulling around. He had been helping with injured dragons and was feeling weaker than before. No, I will push through this. I have to help. Sitting down to rest for some time, he drank deeply from a water basin the rainwing he was working beside had given him. I really need to get some medical attention at some point. His injuries were still painful. He was hoping that none of them had been infected but he wasn't sure if his hopes were going to come true. Some hurt more than they were supposed to and he wasn't thrilled about it.
His eyelids started to feel heavy but he shook himself awake. No, no sleeping when there are dragons and humans to be helped. Would you really be living up to your soldier's code if you let them go unhelped?
Dust clouds in the distance caught Crest's attention and he could make out a transport like the one he had come in on the horizon. The rest of the dragons. He finished the dragon he was helping and started limping over to the transport. His knees buckled under him and he fell to the sand. The rainwing he was working with before came over to him and helped him to his feet.
"Woah there, mate," she said supporting him with her wing. "Take it easy. You've been working hard and you're still injured. If anything we should be helping you."
"I'm fine. I'm fine," he tried to argue back, but she shook her head.
"No, you are taking a rest. You're no good to us at all if you're dead!" She helped him to one of the caves in the rock where other dragons were sitting from the heat.
"Stay here and rest," she commanded. "As one of the medics, I can do that." She smiled and winked before turning away back to what she was doing.
Crest sighed. I HATE feeling useless!!! He tried to think about it and instead closed his eyes and listened to the sound of dragons breathing and talking around him and the sounds of dragons in the distance coming off of the transport.
Just rest, Crest. Then you can help....
