Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Finally, Sage thought. He'd been waiting patiently for a while now and the moment had now presented itself. The black cloudwing he had picked to talk to first was now at the edge of the nest and skipping rocks on the beautiful lake. Like a snake, Sage slid through the trees and underbrush as silently as he could. For his large size, he was surprisingly good at sneaking and that was thanks to years of relentless training. Approaching the lake, Sage stopped and got to his feet. Then, dropped to all fours. His form was a little off for a dragon like this, but from a distance, no one should notice. Standing confident, he walked out of the trees and towards the lake where the cloudwing was. With his head lowered and trying to stick to any shadows he could, he got to the cloudwing and could feel his gaze on him.
Sage picked a spot near him and sat down dragon-like, which was very uncomfortable, but he dealt with it. Keeping his head turned away from the black cloudwing he started the conversation. "Beautiful day isn't it?" he said plainly and conversationally. He added a lighter tone to his hissing voice as he'd been trained so that he sounded less menacing. His hand hovered over the muzzle attached to his belt in case the cloudwing saw what he was and he had to silence him momentarily.

(Gonna be honest, Sage kinda creeps me out a little too when I write him lol)

Sol tensed as the wind carried the second dragon's words through the air. Tobias was in that car. Relief tore through his body and it took everything in him not to launch himself towards the vehicle.
The SandWing righted the car once again, moving to the driver's seat. He wrenched the door open, dragging a human out a few moments later. It wasn't Tobias, Sol could see that much, but then the SandWing tossed the man against the sand, and the body became nothing more than a dim shadow.

The hinges creaked as the dragon tore the side door off, sending tremors through the car.
Tobias scrambled back, pushing himself against the opposite door, the SMG propped between his legs.
Now he survived off of adrenaline- whatever Gables had given him had long worn off, and even now he could his body grow colder in the humid air.

Gen glanced at Alicanto as August retreated towards the other two dragons. "Grab him."

(Love how the stakes are shooting through the roof rn 👌🔥)
Alicanto wedged his claws into the crevice of the door and wrenched it off, the flat of metal slapping against the sand. His talon shot into the vehicle, adrenaline coursing through his blood and he felt one of his claws barely nick soft flesh. His talon closed around the human and he dragged him toward the door, feeling August grab and hold onto things desperately as he came closer to the outside. Alicanto laughed again as he gave a small jerk, pulling the human out of the vehicle completely.

(Cap, if he's gonna shoot my boy, please don't aim for the face, lol)

Corvus flicked his ears in the direction of the stranger, who had appeared from seemingly nowhere.

“You could say that,” he grumbled, not looking up. He gave the stranger only a quick glance. Seemed… off.

Corvus pulled his tail in and rested it over his talons, looking at the stranger. The other dragon lingered in the dark. Corvus narrowed his eyes, not liking the vibes he was getting. “Who are you?”

Ajax watched, feeling a little bored. He brought a talon to his face, examining it. How come they always get do the fun stuff? Ajax pouted in his head.

Gen straightened quite suddenly as the moonlight illuminated the man's face.
A torrent of memories charged through his mind, and Gen inhaled a sharp gasp, looking away. He recognized Tobias- and Tobias must have recognized him, because when he locked eyes with his target, the man gave a knowing look.
For a moment, Gen forgot what he was doing in the middle of the desert beside a dead man and a smoking car.
A bright red SolarWing flashed through his mind.

Tobias swore, dropping the damaged weapon, which had done nothing more but click. He raised his left hand slowly, still in the dragon's talons.
The SandWing was studying him, and Tobias locked eyes with the dragon, who gave a small, understanding nod, his jaw slightly agape.

Sol scaled the dune, looking down on the dragons below, who were maybe twenty feet away.
Gen vanished, and Sol tried to suppress a hopeful smile, digging his talons into the sand.
