Sol tensed, realizing how very easily the assassins could kill Tobias- and him and Eclipse for that matter. They had lost Gen- and truthfully he was the only reason anyone had survived this far. There was a risk in everything, and Sol always seemed forced to take it.
Vel tilted August's head back, using her talon to support his neck. He stared back at her, exhaustion and pain tugging at his expression- but he was alive, and that's all that mattered to Sol at the moment.
The gray RainWing leaned in towards the man. "Did Roe make it?"
The question was blunt, filled with suspicion.
Tobias didn't answer at first, and the CloudWing rolled his eyes, begining to pull away.
Vel hissed, shaking Tobias, standing her ground. "
Is Roe dead?"
Sol's heart jack-knived as the warping blades pressed against Tobias' chest. The air seemed to stand still, a thick, invisible tension.
And then Tobias nodded.
Vel released the man, stumbling back.
Sol rushed forward, trying to push back the horrid feeling of loss pounding in his mind.
The RainWing leapt into the air, flying back a ways. "Alright. Alright, let him go." Her rebellious flare was gone, her jesting tone obliterated by truth.
Sol met the CloudWing's gaze, keeping his expression cold and hard- would the dragon keep his word?
Slim Shady.
