Alicanto narrowed his eyes.
"Either you're lying or you don't know," he growled, frustration building in his chest. The silver Cloudwing's tail lashed in the sand.
Eclipse slowly stepped up beside Sol, moving a wing to brush comfortingly against his side and stopping when she felt the heat still pulsing from his scales. She wished she knew what to do, but she wasn't certain she could trade the fate of the entire rebellion and the refugees with it for one human. Even though that human was Tobias.
She knew a little more than Sol did though. She could give the Cloudwing what he wanted, or at least some of it. But could she really endanger Shard, Sunspot, Bloodmoon, and all the others? Even for the sake of Tobias's life? But if she didn't, what would become of him? What would become of Sol?
She sidled closer to the Solaring, the heat from his scales swirling uncomfortably over her own.
"I know a little about where they are going, but not much," she whispered, watching the Cloudwing for any sign he may have overheard.
"I don't know if you want me to tell him though. It might not be enough anyway."
Alicanto watched the Lunarwing cautiously as she slowly slid up beside the bright red dragon, murmuring something into his ear, her eyes fixed warily on Alicanto. He growled softly, a warning.
"If you need time to perhaps, gather information, I could arrange for a later exchange," he said slowly.
