Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Alicanto's tail swished through the sand, and he lifted his chin, watching the prince from cold, cocky eyes.
"Very well," he said with a small laugh.
"Give me the location and the destination of your little rebellion. I want. Every. Detail. And don't even think about lying to me Solarwing, I can tell when a dragon is bluffing." He leveled his gaze challengingly on Sol.

Sol gave one, steady nod. He looked to Tobias. "Release him first. You release him, and I'll answer every question you have."

Alicanto laughed.
"I don't think so," he sneered. "This human is the only thing keeping the whole lot of you from trying to shred me, and you well know it. Tell me what I want to hear first, and he's all yours." He glanced between the three dragons again, his warping slowly drifting back to him and dissolving into his feathers.
"You have my word, Sol," the tone in his voice leveled, his expression serious again. "I don't want to kill anyone, but I'm not afraid to by any means. It's survival not spite. Tell me where the rebellion is and where they are headed, and I will be more than willing to hold up my end of the bargain."

(Isn't this how it always goes? The two sides argue who gives their side of the deal first? But, My. Word, the stakes are so freaking high rn)

Sol took a shaking breath.
"We're in the mountains. In a cave- cavern. In the mountains." He winced, clenching his jaw as Tobias leaned against the CloudWing, his head lolling. "And.. we're heading deeper into the mountains." He glanced to Eclipse, knowing his answer wasn't good enough. But he didn't know much more. "We are leaving soon. For the next Checkpoint, I believe we leave sometime this morning. Early morning." Sol shook his head. "What else? What other questions?"

Kassa stifled a growl from his position beside Vel. They were so close. So close.
But he could hear the pain in Sol's voice. And he realized Sol did not have much information to give. Vel stirred, and Kass tried to keep from jumping, too caught up in the tension to be aware of his surroundings.

Alicanto narrowed his eyes.
"Either you're lying or you don't know," he growled, frustration building in his chest. The silver Cloudwing's tail lashed in the sand.

Eclipse slowly stepped up beside Sol, moving a wing to brush comfortingly against his side and stopping when she felt the heat still pulsing from his scales. She wished she knew what to do, but she wasn't certain she could trade the fate of the entire rebellion and the refugees with it for one human. Even though that human was Tobias.
She knew a little more than Sol did though. She could give the Cloudwing what he wanted, or at least some of it. But could she really endanger Shard, Sunspot, Bloodmoon, and all the others? Even for the sake of Tobias's life? But if she didn't, what would become of him? What would become of Sol?
She sidled closer to the Solaring, the heat from his scales swirling uncomfortably over her own.
"I know a little about where they are going, but not much," she whispered, watching the Cloudwing for any sign he may have overheard.
"I don't know if you want me to tell him though. It might not be enough anyway."

Alicanto watched the Lunarwing cautiously as she slowly slid up beside the bright red dragon, murmuring something into his ear, her eyes fixed warily on Alicanto. He growled softly, a warning.
"If you need time to perhaps, gather information, I could arrange for a later exchange," he said slowly.

Sol dropped his head, feeling utterly spent. "Tell him," he whispered, an edge of hysteria in his tone, "everything."

Vel suddenly hissed, appearing behind the CloudWing, her massive gray body equal in height and stature to the silver feathered dragon. "But how far are you willing to go? The way I see it-" Kal and Kassa appeared on either side of the CloudWing. "you're at our mercy."

"No, nonono-" Sol whispered, giving Vel a desperate look. "He'll kill him, he'll kill Tobias anyway," Vel didn't move, didn't adjust her gaze, and Sol's heart dropped, his talons clenched the sand.

Alicanto froze for a moment, the white-tipped feathers along his spine glowing brighter as he felt the dragon's breath stir them. The despair on Sol's face was evident, and Alicanto only smiled, the shadow cast by the dragon behind him sending a dark veil over his already menacing expression.
"Of course," he said slowly, his voice a sickly light tone. "But do consider-" he tightened his grip on Tobias, feeling the human tense in pain.
"I won't go down without a fight. And August won't last more than the next several seconds."

Eclipse had only just opened her mouth to respond when Vel appeared behind the Cloudwing, along with Kas and another Rainwing she didn't recognize.
She watched in horror as the silver dragon's grip tightened around Tobias's waist, his claw pressing up again and forcing the human's head back. Instinctively, she took a step towards them, stopping as the Cloudwing shot her a dark warning look, his face shadowed ominously in the moonlight. Eclipse felt torn, standing uncertainly beside Sol.
