Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

"To Sol," Eclipse responded, trying to twist her head to look at the human under her wing. "When he was brought here. How did he get here, how did the hunters get him, and... just overall--what happened?"
Sol said nothing, so Tobias answered her question, knowing Sol wasn't even fully there, every drug affecting his emotions.
"He came here  wild. Like-... nowhere near your defensiveness- he was deadly. And that was because he had hope. That, or he was a maniac, but obviously," Tobias motioned to Sol, "I don't think he is. Anyways, he was just... a monster, and of course, wull, by human, like, standards, he has to be broken... And they did break him. And it took months. And he.. finally lost hope."
Tobias scooted out from under the wing, still sitting as he rested his arms across his knees. "I found him, and bought him. It was actually a stupid cocky dare thing, I said I could fix him," Tobias shook his head, "none of that matters anyway, but that's just why I bought him. Because he had been... so abused, mentally and physically, I did reach him better, they literally had broken him, like.. I don't know how he survived." Tobias glanced at Sol, who's eyes were closed, ears twitching. "It took some time to earn his trust. But- he needed help. He needed me. He wouldn't have survived much longer if still in the hands of his old 'owners'. Sickening. But, because of our relationship, he's famous around here, heck, I AM famous around here, and it's literally all because of him."
Tobias shot another look at Sol. The red dragon was smiling.
Tobias laughed softly. "Hard times, Eclipse." He stood, grabbing his bag.

Sparrow growled, "Oh, I won't be the one playing dead." He slammed the NightWing against the ground, tightening his tail. "Help is coming. Do not give up. Fight for what is right, don't turn against each other. We're stronger together." Sparrow recited the lines, sounding annoyed. "Help is coming."
Head throbbing, Bloodmoon stumbled up panting. "I trust you. But If this is a hoax to extent your life, I promise I'll kill you." Help was coming He hoped with all his heart that this was true

Eclipse barely stopped herself from rolling her eyes. "Yes, as I said, he was already on his way when the Nightwings showed up. I barely managed to convince him to wait at least twenty-four hours for me to finish my trip. But he knew that he was going to need the help, or it would be suicide." Movement caught her eye and she glanced at the window again. Does every dragon in Pyhrria want to come stare at...
She peered closer at the glass. A note was pressed into the window, with writing scribbled on it in Dragon.
Do you know Neoma? Which way is she?
Eclipse stared wide-eyed at the note and watched as it vanished and a brightly colored face appeared behind the glass. She couldn't tell if it was a Rainwing or Leafwing, but she gave the tiniest nod. Questions flooded her head. How did this dragon know Neoma? Why was he looking for her? Why was he free in the Scorpion Den? There was no way for her to know which way the other Lunarwing was, so she shrugged ever so slightly before turning back to Sol.
"How did you get separated from your father?" she said, hoping no one noticed the brief exchange with the mysterious dragon.

Jabez looked at the cage, could he break the glass? It was worth a shot.

Head throbbing, Bloodmoon stumbled up panting. "I trust you. But If this is a hoax to extent your life, I promise I'll kill you." Help was coming He hoped with all his heart that this was true
Sparrow scoffed, "I am not threatened by you, NightWing." He whirled around, catching the black dragons forearm with his tail, jerking him forward, then slamming into him, tight talons bearing down on the dragons wings.

Bloodmoon rolled to the left in order to save his wings. He grasped the Rainwing's neck and flipped him over, snarling.

Helios looked up, meeting the dragons eyes. This dragon was incredible, though he was on the brink of insanity from lack of water and locked away in a human city to be tortured or killed or abused, he still tried to give hope to those around him.

“I came for my son..” he replied with a sad tone, “but we were captured before we could infiltrate the Den, this is all my fault.” He stated, his voice full of guilt as he glanced toward Sunspot and Neoma.

( what if some dragons in the higher up, more modern and wealthy and luxurious parts of the Scorpion Den were really free. Humans Still kept on eye on them but they were free to own apartments or shops or things. Maybe a scientist /alchemist/ rebel dragon or human has been having the same ideas as Tobias, making a drug that can deactivate the other drugs in a dragons system? Maybe there’s a underground movement unbeknownst to most trying to find a way to free most if not all the dragons and set things right? Kinda like the chrysalis? Just ideas lol)
He noticed the king's sad tone and his hopeless statement. How could it be his fault? "I doubt it was your fault, Your Highness," he said reassuringly. What are you doing, Crest? Remember, you can't... He changed his gaze back down to the empty water bowl and asked, "So how many were in your group? That way, we can try and find them through our stay here."
Before the king could answer, he saw humans coming through the opening to there large room. The blonde one with the hazel eyes entered and began walking towards the lunarwings cage. Crest sent a hard glare across the lot towards the young man. He turned his hazel eyes towards him and gave a sly grin. Crest glared harder, like if he tried hard enough, he could glare a hole right through his head. Crest saw them get the lunarwing out of her cage and taking her somewhere. Surprisingly, she didn't fight back. He launched himself to the front of his cage, claws wrapping around the bars and trying to break them. Too late, Crest. You shouldn't have gotten attached. He growled loudly and the blonde boy turned his head towards him, raising an eyebrow. He smiled and said loudly to the three of them, "Get ready, lizards, y'all are next." He turned and followed his group as they took the lunarwing away.
She's going to go to the arena. He felt worry creep into his heart as he realized what he'd said. How am I supposed to fight without water? Pushing the hopeless fight to come out of his head, he looked back at the king wondering he must be thinking.

Blackout waited for a moment for Whitestar's response. When he nodded, Blackout turned away so he could face the two Rainwings and the human better.
He saw Apple and Alyssia talking, and he felt a sudden happiness seeing a human and dragon get along so well. Where he was from, there wasn't a whole lot of that.
He paused for a second. For a split instant, there was no smile on Bamboo's face and he was watching his sister closely.
He wasn't bouncing or humming. He was perfectly still and looked as though he was pondering something heavy.
But before Blackout could fully register if anything was actually wrong, the usual grin was on Bamboo's face again. He hopped over to them, chipperly asking what was going on.
Apple turned, obviously curious but too quiet and polite to ask.
Blackout quickly ran through an overview of what had been happening.
"Well, basically, I am from the Scorpion Den." Seeing a horrified look on the other two's faces, he hurried to fix it. In the back of his mind, he felt a respect and slight admiration for Bamboo as the Rainwing had just barely shifted and spread his wings slightly to place himself between Blackout and Apple.
Blackout winced inwardly. "No- no I left because I hated the fighting and the violence," He assured them.
Bamboo relaxed slightly, but kept his eyes fixed on Blackout with his wings just barely in front of Apple.
Blackout mentally commended Bamboo for his bravery.
"I couldn't stand the bloodshed. I was taken along with others to go fight a small battle near the Den, and when I couldn't kill a dragon, I fled because I knew I'd be punished and I didn't want to go back anyways. I entered the jungle and heard Whitestar and Alyssia conversing. When I approached them, I found out that Whitestar is a friend of one of the dragons that was taken into the Den; actually one of the dragons I was sent to go fight. Alyssia had run into them as well, and now all three of us are trying to come up with ways to save them."
Bamboo looked at Apple, and Apple leaned forward against his wing. He lowered it slowly, and she stepped closer to Blackout.
"Alyssia told me she has a plan. If you are open to my translating, I'd like to help." Light blue shimmered and swirled across her scales, and Blackout recognized curiosity.
He glanced at Bamboo. Yellow and teal warred across his body, and Blackout caught eyes with him. An equal mix of worry and excitement.
Yellow won, though, as excitement took hold and Bamboo got closer too. "I wanna help! I wanna join!" He said eagerly.
Blackout blinked. Their quick enthusiasm took him by surprise.
Alyssia understood the words "want" and "help". Her heart leapt with joy and excitement. More dragons!! This is gonna be so fun... Alyssia stepped forward, her eyes dancing with anticipation and excitement. "Alright! The plan is ready!" she said in English, assuming Apple would translate for them. "Do y'all want to hear it?" she added with a grin.

Austin walked down one of the corridors of the arena. He felt a little small walking around without his dragon, but he shook the feeling and kept walking. Who needs dragons anyway. He continued walking when a man stopped him. "Austin, we have the lunarwing in the new lot for the next battle. Can you get 'er for me?" Austin gave a cocky grin. A lunarwing fighting, eh? This'll be entertaining. "Yes, of course I'll go get a dragon for you." He turned and walked towards the exit of the arena and down the roads to the lot of new dragons. Flanking him were several other nightwing riders.
"Ay, Austin, did ya eva get yer dragon back?" one of them asked as he walked beside him.
Austin turned his head slightly towards him, but didn't look at him. "Nah, he hasn't come back yet. Though, I can always break in a new one."
"Ya, I guess. Though, this one was real good."
Austin chuckled, "Yeah, but nothing that can't be replaced."
They entered the large lot and made there way over to the lunarwing. He saw the seawing that sat there in the cage getting agitated. While the others undid the locks on the cage and got out the lunarwing, he gave the seawing a sly grin. That's right, lizard, glare at me...hate me. It'll give me all the more reason to kill you. They got the dragon out and Austin was surprised to see it put up little resistance. He felt for his pistol in his right leg holster and the cool steel reassured him that if things got out of hand, he could control it. A loud growl resonated in his ears as he looked over at the seawing. The desperation to help this dragon was evident in its eyes. He looked at all three of the dragons - two solarwings and a seawing - and smiled. "Get ready, lizards, y'all are next." He turned and walked away, content with his comment.
He watched the dragon all the way to the arena, his hand always hovering over his pistol. The dragons really is beautiful, he thought and then shook his head. Remember, even sirens are beautiful to some. He continued forward. The dragon began to buck and resist the pull towards the arena and Austin barked an order to his cohorts to get her back in line. The prodded her with their electric poles and sent her into the ring.
One of the others walked up to him, "Shouldn't we unmuzzle her first?"
Austin smirked, "Oh, I must've forgotten," the sarcasm in his voice unmistakable. "I guess she'll have to fight with it on." He shrugged and walked over to the opening, leaned against the wall, and waited for the fight to begin.
