Of Feathers And Flames- A Wings of Fire AU RP

Thanks! 😊

ā€œWhat?ā€ Shrike snapped, exasperated by the whole situation to pay much attention to what the burly dragon meant. ā€œI can’t read your mind ya know.ā€
Kapok waved a talon toward Tobias again in a Just look what he's been doing gesture. The human was just finishing stitching the tear in the Eclipse's wing, and Kapok fixed Shrike with a hard stare.

Alyssia understood the words "want" and "help". Her heart leapt with joy and excitement. More dragons!! This is gonna be so fun... Alyssia stepped forward, her eyes dancing with anticipation and excitement. "Alright! The plan is ready!" she said in English, assuming Apple would translate for them. "Do y'all want to hear it?" she added with a grin.
Apple listened to Alyssia eagerly ask if she could share her plan, and stepped closer to her so she could hear her more clearly. She faced the direction of Blackout and Whitestar, and offered to translate properly.
Near her, Bamboo grinned proudly. He loved watching her be in her element of doing things with her mind. She had always been the smart one.
He looked back at Blackout and Whitestar. He hoped he could trust them; but his want for an adventure outweighed his concern.
Apple was secretly excited too.
She laughed as Blackout corrected himself, and signalled the human that it was alright to speak now.
She was still smiling inwardly at the embarrassment of the Nightwing though... It was kinda silly how he apologized so much and seemed so aware of his actions.
Kinda nice, really.

*Blackout will be in the same part bc it's so short*

Blackout respected the two of them for their dedication to each other. As the little human squeaked some things out, Apple asked if she could translate.
Gratefully, Blackout nodded at the pretty Rainwing. Remembering she couldn't see him, he blushed, slightly embarrassed.
"Sorry sorry... I meant yes!" He stammered out.
Apple laughed lightly, then turned her head back towards the small human. Blackout watched her, glad his scales couldn't reflect his embarrassment at forgetting she was blind.
His mind jumped to the mission.
They were going to rescue the dragons in the Den.
For some reason, the one Lunarwing kept popping into his mind.
He saw his own fear and desperation for normalcy in her eyes.
He wanted her out. He wanted to know if she was okay. He knew she wasn't from the way she appeared and begged him to kill her in the battle, and for some reason, he couldn't get past it.

Eclipse stood up and paced over to Sol's cage. "I have only known him for a day, and I was only around him a few hours but..." she ran a talon over her snout thinking--what did she know from her encounter with Helios?
"He is very gentle around most others... but he is... defensive, or ready to protect himself or others. He is looking for other Solarwings to help reform his kingdom and form a resistance against the humans and the Scorpion Den. He's very loyal I suppose. And he has a decent sense of humor. He... he wouldn't abandon the idea of leaving you here. Sunspot and I both tried to emphasize that it was practically a suicide mission. He didn't really care, he just... wanted to do whatever he could to help you. But not... recklessly. He wouldn't let me leave for moons sake, because he knew he couldn't do it alone and he didn't want to have to wait even longer to search for more help. He's desperate, but not stupid." she sat down and rested her tail gracefully over her talons, tilting her head at the Solarwing.
Sol's eyes opened. "Reform the Kingdom?" He whispered, silent tears rolling down his face. "What's happened? Did they all die? Or did the humans kill them? Did.. oh, they'd must have killed the SolarWings."
Tobias winced. Sol was never emotional. He wasn't sure if the SolarWing was even following with his own conversation- or if he was awake. All the repetitive sentences made him very skeptical.
Sol's breathing quickened, "Is Helios the only SolarWing? Are all of them dead?"
Tobias held back a sympathetic smile, walking up beside Eclipse. "Let her finish her answer, bud."

Gotta got to youth church, so I'll have Alyssia give her plan in like an hour

Neoma listened in slight shock, but as she listened, a flame erupted in her belly. Not at the other dragons here; they were forced to fight too.
With no more reason to hold back, she quickly snapped her muzzle, and opened her jaw, relishing in the freedom for the first time in days. Now it would look like the other dragon had also removed it as well.
"There doesn't seem to be a whole lot that's 'right' here." She hissed, tossing the dragon off her. She stood quickly, shaking her head and getting reaccustomed to having a free jaw.
Neoma glanced at the smaller dragon.
Kyler.
Kyler was small when he died.
She stumbled back.
Death.
She had just killed another dragon not long ago. She wouldn't do it again. But could she trust them? They might be luring her in to trick her and win...
Her life couldn't rest on stranger's words.
She growled lowly and commanded her Warping, forming it into the blade. She sped it forward, stopping it as it pricked the adult's throat.
"Prove your reliability." She snarled, a few feet away, staring the grown dragon down. She felt the smaller one watching her, and had to resist the urge to cry out; being so close to a small dragon and knowing she had the power to kill her was insane.
It made her feel like Milza.
Is this the power she felt? The normality of murder?
In her intense thought, she accidently drove the blade forward, eliciting a drop of blood from the Rainwing's throat.
Neoma froze. That wasn't her intent.
The Nightwing's face burned across her vision, and she stumbled back with her blade faltering. She panted and looked panickedly between the two dragons.
I won't kill them. No. No no no. I won't be Milza.
War in her head, battles in front of her, death all around.
She shook her head, red stars tossing at the edge of her sight.

And it all went silent.
There was no sound.
She was alone in darkness.
One word flashed across her vision now.

Survival.

Whether that meant working with the others or killing them, she was going to have to get used to death.
Everything snapped back into place. A clarity was in her mind. She didn't want to kill, but she knew now:
Survival was her only goal.
Neoma gave a tiny smile, dangerously confident.
If she had to kill to survive, she would.
Jyn lifted her back leg slowly, trying to retreat from the blade, her eyes wide in shock. "What do you want to know?" She asked slowly, shaking her head slightly at Qi'ra, feeling the blade prick deeper into her neck.
The crowd stared, everyone aghast at the strange weapon the LunarWing has created.
The gates behind her opened, and Jyn winced, feeling the blade dig a big deeper as another dragon was released. She didn't dare move her head- she knew who it was anyway.

Wanda dipped her head at the LunarWing, rushing to Jyn's side. "This isn't a kill match." She tried, shaking her head at the LunarWing, "Please, stop." She lifted her talons towards the blade.

"I don't... I don't think so. He mentioned something about the queen. Queen... L-... Luminos? Lumos? And Sunspot is still alive--I know that all too well--and she is a Solarwing. He said he is regathering them. There are others I'm sure..." Eclipse stared helplessly at Sol. The truth was, she had no idea how many Solarwings were left, or why they were broken up. Sure, most of the kingdoms in Pyhrria had been scattered to some extent, some for centuries. But Sol acted like he knew a time when the Solarwings were still a full tribe. "I don't think they have all been scattered, just... a noticeable amount."

Whitestar nodded at Alyssia as Apple translated her words. He glanced over at Blackout and noticed his expression darken. The Nightwing looked lost in thought, and Whitestar could only figure it was something of the Scorpion Den, or perhaps the recent battle. Maybe both.
"We will fix all of this," he said quietly to Blackout. "Don't let yourself get dragged into the guilt, or you will never find the strength to overcome it and do the right thing. What's passed is passed. We all have our darkside. But you can't let it take over you."

Sol stared wordlessly at the ground, a forlorn look in his eye.
"Hey, hey- Eclipse, what was that, uh... The silvery liquid shenanigans? Explain that. Please." Tobias asked, changing the subject.
